Piny Pon

I’d like to introduce you to my kids’ Piny Pon family. They’re this season’s flavor and they go with us everywhere. They’re tiny…a bit bigger than those Pocket toys which I hated…and their body parts can be interchanged.

They came with us for our pre-Valentine’s lunch and will probably be going with us to a lot more places.

Cluck for Luck

I spotted these souvenirs being sold at one of the small antique shops near Senado Square in Macau. I assumed that they were for gambling luck since they were being sold alongside “lucky coins” and “lucky dice”. With Macau being the gambling and casino center of Asia, luck is something you definitely need.

The Path

The heat is on!! This normally muddy path is now parched and dusty. Much as I love the sun, this extreme heat is unbearable. I’m wishing the rains come…and I hope its soon.

BFFs

Growing up I managed to amass several BFFs (best friends forever). Back in grade school I used to have a new BFF every year while keeping my previous BFF.

BFFs are a godsend. They are your shoulder to cry on…your repository of secrets….and your go-to person when there was nobody else to go to. And sometimes your BFF could be the sibling you never had. Without a BFF life would definitely not be as colorful…and fulfilling.

Street Wise

Many students are quite familiar with this road somewhere in the vicinity of the country’s state university. I didn’t go to university here but I used to pass this road coming and going to school. It was in this same road that a gruesome accident occured involving some scions of some of the country’s wealthiest families. I remember it quite clearly. If I’m not mistaken, the accident happened on the tree on the foreground and there were casualties.

To this day I still get spooked when passing through this road. In fact, I would rather take another route than pass here.
