Right after the eating festival that was Christmas, we decided that it was time to clean up…our bodies, that is. And to kick things off, we gave the new juicer some work to do. Good thing that fruits were aplenty so we had lots to juice. Threw in some veggies for good measure. And voila, we came up with several 5-A-Day concoctions. Yummy, healthy, and…yellow.

These have been giving my kids sleepless nights. At least for the most part. You slip these little lights around each finger and fire them up. Its like tiny disco lights dancing in the room when everything is pitch black. Cute, but sometimes irritating.

Everything about this spells romance.

We had several of these when we had our pre-Valentines lunch….with the kids. And we all enjoyed. Who says Valentine’s is just for lovers, right.

I’d like to introduce you to my kids’ Piny Pon family. They’re this season’s flavor and they go with us everywhere. They’re tiny…a bit bigger than those Pocket toys which I hated…and their body parts can be interchanged.

They came with us for our pre-Valentine’s lunch and will probably be going with us to a lot more places.

I’m a coffee drinker. Addict is more like it. I can consume up to 5 mugs…MUGS…a day of brew on any given day. And I’m not picky. As long as I get some caffeine going in my system, I’m pretty much good to go.

This affliction started at a very early age. My Lola used to allow me to dip my cream cheese sandwiches in her cup of coffee to give it a sweet, bitter, and salty flavor. I absolutely loved it. Sometimes I would even have our helper make me a cup just for dunking my sandwiches. I wouldn’t drink it though. There was this belief going around that kids who drank coffee wouldn’t grow up. So no drinking.

The drinking came in at around college time. And it was because of a damn accounting course. It was my first class every Tuesday and Thursday. It was so boring that I would literally fall asleep in class. So to remedy this I learned how to drink coffee. And I started hardcore. Black as hell. No sugar. No cream. A habit I continue to enjoy today.

Today I like variety. I like instant. I like Starbucks….Tall Cafe Latte’ Nonfat No Syrup One Splenda! I like home grown Barako…especially when paired up with a grilled Ensaymada. And most of all, I like it freshly brewed in my 3 cup French press. Yum yum!!

So excuse me, I need to get myself a MUG.

Just to set the record straight….I didn’t take this picture. My husband did. But what would an album be without at least 1 mug shot of the photog…right?

So I chose one that I think is pretty cool.

I couldn’t help myself. I had to buy these gorgeous squash flowers at the market the other day. There were a lot of them so they came pretty cheap. I immediately cooked them for dinner.

Does anybody still use albums for their pictures? Gone are the day when pictures were viewed on an album. Nowadays pictures are viewed online or on the computer. I still miss looking at pictures….real pictures.

My future paparazzi. She loves taking pictures and has even attempted with my “big camera”. She hopes that I can buy a new “big camera” this year so she can have my old one. And I must say, she takes pretty good snaps….for a Kidarazzi, I mean.
